  • I was extremely sceptical when Paul was recommended to me as someone who could fix my busted knee. However, following the first treatment, I felt so much better. I was advised that it would take approximately eight treatments to get into better shape, and as predicted seven sessions in and I can now do things I couldn’t do for a long time before. It is amazing! I always tell anyone who I meet that has some sort of ache or pain that they need to see Paul.

  • I have been a patient of Paul’s at Acuhealth for over 5 years now and couldn’t fault his services. Being a rugby player at AIL level, I’ve had my fair share of injuries from ankle, knee, back to shoulder trouble. I find his knowledge of sports injuries to be excellent and treatments to be a lot less painful and with quicker recovery time than a regular physiotherapist. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Paul for sports injury treatment

  • Paul has never let me down when I came to him with a problem. So much so my family use Paul for any ailment. My daughter particularly involved in sport depends on him. My latest challenge was to take on Everest base camp but injured my knee nine days before departure. It didn’t look like I was going to be able to go at all, but made it to Base Camp thanks to Paul’s magic.

Physiological performance and focus; research has shown that acupuncture positively affects your brain chemistry in several ways.  If you are looking to improve your focus, self-confidence, and relaxation prior to competition, acupuncture may be the answer

Acupuncture may not get rid of your Yips. So, whether you’re a competitive athlete or a weekend warrior, Acuhealth bring an excellent tool for anyone who is looking to get a competitive edge, or simply get back to being active.  Importantly, it’s legal.

How is it treated?

The key to correct management of sports injuries is an accurate diagnosis.  We take a detailed history, and make a functional appraisal.  With a precise diagnosis in hand, a targeted treatment and management plan is developed.

At Acuhealth we work on two levels. At the injury site, our protocols increase blood flow, initiating a healing response. This process increases white blood cells, Nitric Oxide, and immune-molecules at the injury site resulting in:

enhanced recovery time

reduced inflammation and bruising

accelerated healing of soft tissue

alleviate pain

Second, more general effect of acupuncture is to stimulate the release of a variety of natural biochemicals, including endorphins, neurotransmitters and serotonin, all essential factors in the healing process.

Our approach reduces anxiety and serves to break down the mental barriers that sometimes hinder performance.

Acuhealth combines the protocols of acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, heat, massage, herbs and rehabilitation exercises to help deliver successful treatment of your condition.
