Also called dysmenorrhea, menstrual cramps are pains felt in the lower abdomen, occurring both before and during a woman’s menstrual period. The period is stimulated by the release of prostaglandins, which are associated with pain and inflammation in higher levels.

Is this service right for me?

There are two types of painful period you may experience:

Primary which brings pain in the lower abdomen and lower back beginning 1-2 days before the period and lasting from 2-4 days, by far the most common.

Secondary dysmenorrhea where cramping pains are due to an identifiable medical problem such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, or pelvic inflammatory disease.

Your period may also be accompanied by cramps, nausea, vomiting, sweating, dizziness, headaches, or diarrhoea.

Emotional stress, lack of sleep, and overconsumption of alcohol and caffeine can contribute to these symptoms.

Whether mild or severe, period pain is a medical issue that can be addressed. Acuhealth’s protocols are effective tools that naturally alleviate cramps and regulate your cycle.
